Thailand´s landscape is diverse, the central area is dominated by the Chao Phraya river basin and to the east is a dry plateau. The north, west and south has forested mountains and hills. The climate in Thailand is hot and humid with monsoon rainfall. Agriculture is important and the main products are rice, maize and tapioca. Thailand manufactures electronics, textiles, clothing and footwear. The tourist industry is a major source of income and the main trading partners are Japan and the USA. The capital is Bangkok.
