Seville is the capital of Andalusia in Spain. The historical city is situated on the plains of the Guadalquivir River and has well preserved Roman ruins from the times of Roman rule. The city has many wonderful historic landmarks such as the Cathedral Alcazar and the Torre del Oro. Seville has superb museums and plazas and is host to well known festivals such as Semana Santa (Holy week). Tapas and flamenco are highlights in Seville and the city boasts many fine restaurants, bars and cafés. Due to the pleasant climate and the natural sociability of Sevillians, many people spend the evenings outdoors socializing and enjoying life.
