Captivating and fascinating

Bangkok is one of the most exciting, captivating and fascinating cities in South-East Asia. The metropolitan district known as Krung Thep Mahanakhon was modernized when constuction of high-rise buildings and skyscrapers forever changed the skyline of Bangkok. The area around the Royal Palace is the historic centre of the city with its many temples and gardens. The numerous palm lined Khlongs or canals that once gave the city the name "Venice of the East" have been filled and are today`s busy streets and wide boulevards. Some of these canals and their colourful floating markets can still be found in the district of Thon-Buri.
